Description of the area
The accommodation is located near the Naviglio Pavese which represents the realization of a dream, lasting almost five centuries, of a direct connection between Pavia and Milan. It was the Visconti, in 1359, who started the works for the construction of a canal that was initially not navigable, but very useful for maintaining the splendor of the park of the Castle of Pavia where Gian Galeazzo loved to ride. In the second half of the 16th century, under Spanish domination, Giuseppe Meda's project was approved, but the works were soon suspended. Two hundred years later they were resumed by Napoleon. On 16 August 1819 Ranieri, Archduke of Austria and Viceroy of Lombardy-Veneto, inaugurated the Naviglio Pavese, which from the Darsena passing through Binasco and Pavia flows into the Ticino. Today the area is renowned for pleasant bike rides along the cycle path with the possibility of reaching the Parco Agricolo Sud Milano with its country farmhouses and agritourisms! Assago/MilanoFiori is less than 6.2 km away, with the Forum home to famous concerts and shows!
